Marc Ebert

Marc Ebert is born in Kiel near the east-sea coast. His musical career starts in the age of 6. He receives the first musical education by Eike Funk. The professor of music had invented a lutelike instrument with 14 strings in order to bring the music to young children.
After the first year in this class Marc Ebert has his first public appeareance in the municipal hall of Grosshansdorf. Parents and relatives are claiming obstinately, that he got his musical talent from his grandma, the professional pianist Lotte Kamps. She´s the one, who gives him the first piano lessons. From now on, his daily routine is mainly composed of music.
After school he´s heading home to listen to the records of his father, who´s a great record collector. Paul Simon, solo & Garfunkel, Santana and Paul McCartney are Marc´s favorites. In the afternoon he takes his bike to get to his grandma and sits on the piano with her. His parents are the ones, who present to him the first musical revelation in shape of the red Beatles album. Yet, at the latest it´s obvious, that all he wants to do is music: in the church choir with lots of gigs in the north east of hamburg, piano lessons with his grandma and his first band with his friend Karsten. Together with him, he practises his favourite songs on a daily basis. His lullabies are not the usual kids stuff, but the Pink Floyd-records “Wish you were here” and “Dark Side Of The Moon”.
At the age of 15 he finally found 4 musicians to build a band meeting his visions of music, which are special at this times. “Venetian Blinds”: a funk and latin-jazz orientated band is born. 2 1⁄ 2 years of intensive practising and composing are leading to some remarkable gigs.
When Marc finished school he moves to Hamburg. There he works and plays with a lot of musicians from all genres of music: jazz, with the Nils Ansen Quintet, jazz–standards and own jazz–funk–fusion–compositions with his band “Triotone”, reggae with Tony Polo & Warstopband, soul with us-american singer Veronica Lee and many others.
In order to explore and devellop his very own music, he decides to walk on his own path, experimentating with various genres and styles. He writes the music for a few plays, which he performes live together with the ensemble. Simultanously he collaborate with musicians on several studio-projects. In 1995 he produces his first EP. He writes 3 songs and produces them with the us-american singer Pharao under the synonym “Marc´s Move”. The prince-like track “Jump into” and two dance jazz songs.
The studio-project “Waiting for the break” is following: 4 acid–groove–jazz–songs are produced in a studio in Hamburg. James Last is working next door. More and more often his son comes over to visit Marc´s Band and is enthusiastic. He managed to get Marc a date with former record company WEA.
For the next project “Present Tale” with spanish-ghanaian singer Bonny Ferrer he goes as far as to New York to find suitable business partners.
The fusionbeats-project “Turner Team” reveals his qualities as clubtrack- and groove-specialist. For the band “Quester Hero” he composes and arranges a complete jazz–funk–song-program with 22 songs. Then he writes the music for the play “Schnitzel ohne Knochen”, director: Sascha Anema, for the Black Box/ Gasteig in munich, cooperates as actor and singer and produces all playbacks.
In 2007 Marc composes and produces his first solo–project → Crimson Chilly. For the track “chilling bath (low fat mix)” he produces a music-videoclip, which will appear on the CD as well.
He´s currently working on new songs for his next album, introducing himself as singer and songwriter.

One Soul is speaking, one mind is thinking, one heart is loving
